I've also found it was a good idea to download the VPS Update from ( ). There may be workarounds for this but I don't know what they are. It seems you can't use just the generic installer - it has to be the one retrieved through your account. However, creating a new account and getting the client wasn't a major deal - luckily it was fairly early in our testing so we only had 5 systems on it. The installer is tied directly to your account. This causes the client to uninstall from ALL your systems. One other thing happened early in our testing, I had a co-worker accidentally delete our account. Other than those two things, I have no issues with it and it has done its job fairly well. I haven't had much issue with this, other than it takes longer to start those applications up. After a successful scan, I tend to try to add those programs to exclude from Deep Scan also. Some older programs will also trigger a Deep Scan. I've tackled that by creating a group that has a rule to exclude those folders, and then add the Engineering PC's to the group in the dashboard.

It continually flags our CAD software (iDeas and NX) as malicious. We would continually fight viruses/malware on the systems with MSE.Īvast has stopped a lot of bad content - but also has a tendency to mark legitimate programs as junk AND DELETE rather than quarantine. It allowed so much crap that I wonder if it was working at all. Some systems I have were running MSE - which you may as well just not have anything installed IMHO. It would take the systems to a crawl every day during the update. We had used McAfee previously and I hated it. We've been using it since they announce that it would be free.
